Just when I think I'm used to living in the Central Hillside, I step out onto my porch and faintly hear Tone Loc perfoming at Bayfront Park.
Please baby baby please.

Six years ago today (July 3) I held my week-old son and listened to Paul Simion and Bob Dylan. Even though I was tired as hell, I remember being:
A: Sad that I couldn't be down at bayfront but SO lucky to hear them at my house
B: Pissed off that 4th Fest was no longer free

Six years later, I'm even more pissed by the fact that "Fouth Fest" cost money. Of course, if it's Dylan& Simon, I'd pay, but Tone Loc?
Last weekend, my employer CHARGED to see the Doobie Brothers (and other bands). Remember the 4th fest they played for free?
Of course, I remember when real blues musicians came to this city for Blues Fest. I'm not a blues fan, but back when it was free,
didn't Chuck Berry play?

Did he do "Funky Cold Medina"?
(Tone Loc, I mean, not Chuck Berry. Although I bet he'd do a mean version of it, too.)

barrett chase, you live in the east hillside. the central hillside only goes as far east as 6th ave. sorry, dude, but you are SO middle class.

I may be middle class, but I've always been told that the Central Hillside goes as far as the creek.
If not, well, you bastards have been messing up the West Duluth/West End division for so many years, you deserve a little of your own medicine.
