KQDS: WTF?

Alright, KQDS. I'll admit that I have you programmed in as a preset on my car stereo, and that I often listen to you as I drive to work. But lately I've noticed something that irritates me to a level you will probably never comprehend.
For some unfathomable reason, you've decided to put "Runaway Train" by Soul Asylum into heavy rotation.
Listen: It's nice that you've decided to showcase a famous Duluthian. But please realize three things: 1) NO ONE wants to hear a song about child abuse, 2) That song is the song that ruined Soul Asylum, which was a pretty good band previous to that song, and 3) I've used two colons in this sentence, which is just plain wrong.
If you want to showcase a famous Duluthian, showcase Bob Dylan. Hell, showcase REM for all I care. I'd rather listen to "Shiny Happy People" 47 times in a row than read a blog post that contains the words "Runaway Train" in nonsequential order.
Oh, sweet Jesus, how I HATE the song "Runaway Train." I remember how it played on MTV approximately every two mintues. And while I've come to grips with some of the other songs that MTV ridiculously overplayed (e.g. Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer") I will never, ever be able to listen to "Runaway Train." The song goes against everything I love about rock 'n' roll. I hate it. And I can't possibly imagine anyone having a legitimate reason for liking it.
You INFLICT this song on us, KQDS. And worse, you do it many, many times per day.
If my car stereo didn't only play radio (and badly at that) I'd ... I'd ...
I don't know what I'd do.

You are not alone in your hatred of "Runaway Train". I, ahem, have a certain NY rock station on one of my presets and I thought maybe one of the Soul Asylum members died with the frequency they were playing it last month. Of course I turn the station when it comes on, but 20 minutes later when I turn back the song is still on. How is that possible? It is the LONGEST song ever. And the suckiest.

That is maddening. You have to just play your mixed tapes. Plus how can you stand the commercials.

Somethings up because it's been on Chicago radio quite a bit too. And did you see the Netflix settlement? You were not just paranoid my (internet) friend.

As of late, I have been listening to KRBR (formerly known as The Bear). They sound an aweful lot like KQDS these days but without the annoying repeats. However, that doesn't stop them from playing every AC/DC song ever recorded in a 24 hour time span.

Every AC/DC song ever recorded in a 24 hour time span? You say that like it's a bad thing.

You should try living in Ashland, where we're having a lucky radio day if KQDS is coming in... ;+)
We can set our watches by what's playing on HOT ROCK J96 over here. I mean, if "Magic Bus" is on, it must be 11:30. Like clockwork.
(Although I should point out I'm in agreement on the "Runaway Train" thing--what a freakin' earworm that is.)

When people in my cab ask me if I like this music station or that music station, I tell them I hate every song on the radio.

Did you know there are cars for sale in Duluth. Oh ya, every 4 seconds we find out "WHERE THE CARS ARE" I can't listen to that station because of the insane amount of In Your Face car commercials. and ya, "run away train" hated it. I'ld take that over the insane amount of car ads.
