Scenes from a Rally

November 5, 2007 :: :: Duluth | Photography

Our Next Mayor

Here I present some shots from Mr. Nice's political rally at Washington Studios in Duluth. Mr. Nice, for non-Duluthians and local people hanging out under a rock, is the only candidate running for mayor of Duluth who is *literally* a puppet.

His campaign platform is based on New Freshness, which seems to be a euphemism for sheer chaos.

Dubious

Mr. Nice knows what we want in Duluth. We want to eat smoked salmon off of some guy's chest.

Suspicious Character

Chickens were inexplicably present.

Mr. Nice's Vision

A vision of what Duluth will look like under Mr. Nice's leadership.

The Opposition

Charlie Bell (the King of West Duluth) and Donny Ness give their statements.

Chaos

The gorilla and the chicken fight, tearing down the first of many walls.

Martyr for his cause

A martyr for his cause.

Assassination Attempt #1

The first assassination attempt.

The B.T.L.

A fact-filled Powerpoint presentation.

Assassination Attempt #2

The second assassination attempt, in which Mr. Nice was shot down by several gunmen. I bet they were all using magic bullets.

When I left, it was announced that Mr. Nice was in surgery, and everyone was pulling for him.

Comments

I'm going to start inserting that slide into every PowerPoint presentation I have to make.

Where was the security? I mean, two assassination attempts? That wouldn't have happened at, say, the Slim Goodbuzz book signing ...

I think it might have been an inside job. While there were two assassination attempts on Mr. Nice, Mr. Nice himself attempted to assassinate his manservant Allen Richardson after Richardson tried to retire from the Duluth Art scene.
