As I mentioned, I'll be celebrating and photographing throughout the week, so here's an embedded slideshow of the festivities, hopefully updated on a nightly basis.
Rock.

Three years ago, when Diane Arbus Revelations opened at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, I got very, very excited. I don't know who published the article I read about it, but it was a very misleading article. The headline was something like, "Diane Arbus exhibit coming to Minneapolis." It wasn't until the third or fourth paragraph that it mentioned the semi-important fact that the exhibit would pretty much tour the entire world before getting to Minnesota.
Well, it's here. And I am so there.

I've tagged my Homegrown pics on Flickr as "Homegrown Music Festival 2006." Others are using the tag as well. Check em all out here.
The Warriors Ultimate Director's Cut was released on DVD today.
While I love The Warriors with an almost perfect love, I'm not sure I'm willing to make the commitment to DVD ownership, especially since the website lists nothing under "about the DVD" other than a synopsis of the movie. As if anyone who didn't know anything about The Warriors would ever purchase the DVD based on the plotline alone.
There is a trailer on the website, which makes the movie look more like a video game than the spectacular b-movie that it is. So I'm not too excited about the DVD. Go to the site, watch the original trailer and then watch the "ultimate" trailer. Which movie looks better?
My point, I guess, is that there's no reason to mess with The Warriors, except to try to make money from geeks like me. I'm not falling for it. The original is all you need.
